The City Government of Baguio, through Resolution 773 s. 2023, congratulated Dr. Felina Pana Espique for the award she had received from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as one of the “outstanding professionals of the year.”
Espique is the Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) of Saint Louis University.
The Outstanding Professional of the Year Award is the highest recognition conferred by the PRC to individuals who have demonstrated exemplary conduct and integrity in the practice of their profession.
The award ceremony was held on Dec. 10, 2023 at the Manila Hotel.
Espique was honored in the category of Business, Education, and Social Cluster, specifically under Professional Teachers, for her significant contribution in the field of education.
The resolution serves as a recognition for Espique’s exemplary conduct and integrity in the practice of her profession. It further underscores her role in promoting Baguio City as the “education center of the north.”
Saint Louis University, one of the big universities in the city, is considered as a symbol of academic excellence, with Espique having played a significant role to its success.
Councilor Vladmir Cayabas, main author of the resolution, said Espique’s dedication and achievements had brought honor to SLU and Baguio City as a whole.
In a recent interview, Espique verbalized her gratitude to the local government for the recognition.
“I extend my heartfelt thanks to the City Government of Baguio. I could not have achieved this feat by myself. This award is a product of the collective efforts of the entire academic community of Saint Louis University,” she said. – Jordan G. Habbiling
