Pacatiw severs ties with Bahrain-based Brave CF
by Harley F. Palangchao

Jeremy Pacatiw, the Filipino fighter with the most number of appearances in Brave Combat Federation, has severed ties with the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion.

Team Lakay chair Mark Sangiao confirmed last week that Pacatiw’s contract with Brave CF ended in October last year and their camp opted for free agency for the fighter from Kapangan, Benguet.

The 24-year-old Pacatiw made his debut with Brave in December 2016, losing to Hamza Kooheji via decision then bounced back with two wins, including an impressive knockout of Thiago dela Coleta.

He again suffered back-to-back defeats in November 2017 and May 2018 before he nailed three successive wins from August 2018 to March 2019.

His toughest test in Brave CF was when he faced title contender Felipe Efrain in December 2019, winning via technical KO. That was his latest fight before the declaration of the pandemic.

Sangiao said they are scouting for other MMA promotions with which Pacatiw could sign a contract.

Meanwhile, Filipino fighter Rolando Dy, who was named Brave CF Fighter of the Year for 2020, has signed a three-year, five-fight deal with the promotion last month.

“It’s truly an honor to have this award. This trophy is a testament to my dedication, hard work, and sacrifice to be one of the best fighters in the world. It is a very proud moment for myself, my family, and my beloved country. Hopefully, this is the first of many,” said Dy when he received the award.
