The annual Liga ng mga Barangay golf tournament fires on Sept. 28 at the Pinewoods Golf & Country Club with proceeds going to the medication of ailing barangay officials.

Liga president, Councilor Michael Lawana, is inviting local parbusters, including those in nearby regions to support the tournament for-a-cause, saying their participation will help those in need.

The golf management has recently opened two new holes – a par-five and a par-four – making the current holes to 16 with a total of par-72.

The tournament, which will adopt the System 36 as a scoring system, will have three divisions for the men’s category while two divisions for lady golfers.

Three special awards – the most accurate drive, nearest to the pin, and longest drive – will also be given to outstanding parbusters.

Tee time starts at 6:30 a.m. and ends at noon. Each flight will be a maximum of four players and minimum of three.

Registration fee is P2,500 inclusive of green fee, cart, raffle, dinner during awards night, and two mulligans. The minimum caddy fee for 18 holes is P500.

Those interested to sponsor may contact the tournament secretariat at any of the following numbers: 0999-883-0464, 0906-190-7640, or 0947-275-2867.

Last year, Ers Meria and Marianne Bustos topped the men’s and ladies A of the tournament that drew close to a hundred parbusters at the Baguio Country Club.

Proceeds of last year’s tourney were used for various projects and programs of the 128 barangays of Baguio.
