As culmination of the hard work and preparations he has done this year, Ibaloy triathlete Jet Ramos is bound for the world championships in Nice, France set Sept. 7 to 8.

Ramos will join 6,000 athletes from all over the world to join the event featuring the 1.9-kilometer swim, 90-kilometer bike and 21-kilometer run course for elite ironman athletes in the world.

Last April, Ramos saw action in the Ironman 70.3 Liuzhou in China where he earned a slot in the “by qualification only” Ironman 70.3 in France.

Participants will start with the 1.9-km. swim in the pristine waters of the Mediterranean Sea then set off for a 90- km. bike course, which is the highlight of the Ironman France. They will pass through villages and mountains with beautiful panoramic views.

The participants will then run the 21-km. foot race along the Promenade des Anglais, a promenade along the Mediterranean, while greeted by enthusiastic supporters along the route towards the finish line.

Ramos earlier joined the Cebu Ironman in August, earning his 2020 World Champs slot as well as his training race for France.

“Participating in the World Championships culminates all the hard work for me as I have to balance my full time job and training in swim-bike-run,” he said.

Ramos will race with the cream of the crop triathletes and looks forward to be representing not only the country, but also the city of Baguio.

Next year Ramos will start preparing for the 70.3 World Championships in Taupo, New Zealand.
