Mountain bike race in Benguet, Nov 17

Mountain biking enthusiasts from Benguet and neighboring areas will see action in the 1st Mountain Bike Challenge Adivay 2019, Nov. 17.

Featuring two categories, the five-kilometer fun ride and the 60-kilometer mountain bike race, the event will go through the scenic Halsema Highway commencing in La Trinidad.
The race route for the five-km. fun ride will start at the Benguet Sports Complex (BSC) going towards Long-long Road to Tam-awan junction then back to the BSC.

For the 60-km. mountain bike race, starting point will be at the BSC going through the Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center to Km. 6 of the Halsema Highway where riders will head towards Km. 16 in Tublay.

From there, they will pedal through Sto. Niño to Coroz Road in Tublay heading towards Km. 21. Bikers will then proceed to Km. 17 down to Belong-Baayan Road then head off to Kapangan-Kibungan Road entering through Barangay Ambongdolan.

They will proceed to Tuel, Asin Road of Tublay up to La Trinidad’s Barangay Alno-Samoyao-Cruz Road.

Bikers will then pedal up back to the Halsema Highway Road proceeding back to BSC via Buyagan Road during the event organized by 18 Degrees Outdoor Club Inc., in partnership with Lagalag MTB and provincial government of Benguet.

Registration fees are P350 for the five-km. fun ride with event shirt for the first 20 registrants and P500 for the 60-km.

The MTB race with event shirts are for the first 50 registrants.

Registration fees for both categories are inclusive of certificate, event meal, finisher’s medal and medals for top finishers.

Race age categories for the 60-km. MTB race are 50 and above, 40 to 49, 30 to 39, 20 to 29, 19-under and the female side.

Prizes await top winners with special prize for the team with the best time (five participants per team).

The event is part of the sports activities lined up in celebration of the month-long Adivay Festival and 119th Foundation Day of Benguet this November.
