Baguio athletes dominate Lingayen Tigasini Triathlon

Members of the Baguio Triathlon Team nailed an impressive overall finish with four first placers in the Tigasin Triathlon 2019 held in Lingayen, Pangasinan on weekend.

Edison Morales topped the 40 to 44 age group of the standard distance individual where he swam 1.5-kilometer distance then biked another 40km before running the 10-km road en route to the finish line.

Doddie Diño placed second in the same event in the 55 and above age group while Jason Brian Marquez was third place in the 45 to 49 age group.

The Baguio team also placed third overall in standard relay with Eunice Ulat doing the 1.5-km swim, Melan Marquez pedaling the 40-km bike, while Suzzane Diño completed the 10-km run.

The Baguio team likewise produced three first placers in the sprint distance event where athletes swam a 750-meter span, biked 20km, and ran five kilometers en route to the finish line.

Hanna Lokino placed first in the 20 to 25 age category while Trisian Badua was in second place in the same event.

Allyza Santiago placed second in the 25 to 29 age group while Joan Aparentado placed first with Luz Lokino in second place in the 40 to 45 group.

Baguio Chronicle editor Marissa Dacayanan placed first in the 45 to 50 group.

The Baguio team has been winning in several regional and national triathlon and duathlon events, while they have been scouting and training potential athletes to be part of the growing community of the multisport race.
