Bemedalled archer Loren Chloe Balaoing had 272 points while her teammates improved their game, as the University of Baguio clinched two gold medals with four silvers to bag the overall title in archery of the 32nd edition of the Baguio-Benguet Educational Athletic League.
Balaoing won the individual title while Shanya Dangla bagged silver in the competition as Philippine Military Academy’s Kathy Rose Vilbar salvaged a bronze medal.
The UB Cardinals also snatched a gold medal in the mixed team event, besting Saint Louis University, which settled for silver.
PMA was good for bronze.
The UB Cardinals also nailed the women’s table tennis title, edging SLU. Benguet State University and University of the Cordilleras Jaguars finished third and fourth, respectively.
SLU dominated the team event, winning the gold in both men and women divisions courtesy of the trio of Irvin Elijah Dait, Jose Raniel Dimaculangan, and Wilson Wong, who pooled 736 points.
SLU likewise took home the men’s and women’s badminton titles while UB and PMA settled for the second and third place honors in the men and women’s division.
The Navigators earlier won five gold medals en route to bagging the overall title in the wushu-taulo competition.
International campaigner Alieson Ken Omengan and Marissa Camut scored two gold medals each to lead the Navigators’ charge, as the school also took home one silver and three bronze medals in the tournament.
In allied sports, the SLU Navigators took home the title in men’s table tennis edging UB and UC, which settled for second and third place, while PMA settled for fourth place.
The UC Jaguars won one gold and one bronze courtesy of James Seg-ed, who topped the men’s individual contest while PMA had four bronze medals for fourth place.
In sepak takraw, the UC Jaguars made it to the top after disposing their rivals with BSU finishing second and SLU completing the top three.
