Amdengan dominates Dongban Pashalong 2

DONGBAN PASHALONG -- The second edition of the Dongban Pashalong (downhill race) has attracted mountain bike enthusiasts despite the inclement weather on Dec. 30. Wawa Amdengan recorded the fastest time among the participants of the second edition of the Dongban Pashalong at Mt. Yangbew in La Trinidad, Benguet on Dec. 29.

Amdengan ruled the 19 years old and below category with two minutes and 30 seconds in the downhill mountain biking event organized by Team Ulaw Highland Crew.

Justin Mariñas followed, behind by a mere 19-second difference, with two minutes and 49 seconds, while Cliffer Andizo trailed with three minutes and 14 seconds.

Mark Dogyang was in fourth place with three minutes and 41 seconds and Thomas Baday settled for fifth with four minutes and 18 seconds.

Daryl Garcia showed his prowess by topping the 20 to 29 years old category with 3:42 followed by Kim Lagto with 6:02, Eddie Samuel with 7:25, Rhys Pawid with 8:59, and Dhennis Calonge with 9:35.

Louie Palacsa is the champion in the 30 to 39 years old category with a time of 6:34 followed by Jay Camero with  6:36, Michael Corpuz with 6:42, Christopher Manangan with 9:24, and Jayson Cabbat with 9:49.

Arthur Narvais led the 40 years old and above with a time of 6:38 followed by JM Miguel with 8:39, and William Calatan Jr. with 10:28.

The open category saw Dustin Pedro topping it with a time of 3:20 followed by Mark Tangan with 4:59, Darwin Abenoja with 5:20, Marvin Bueno with 6:40, and Lee Borja with 7:00.

The downhill biking event aims to encourage residents in and out the municipality to join sports activities as a healthier option and to promote the beauty of the town for sports and recreation events.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, Philippine Army, and Atty. Ging Panganiban along with Barangay Tawang, Sangguniang Kabataan La Trinidad, La Trinidad local government and Councilor Guiller Galwan supported the event.
