Bike event to raise funds for Tublay chapels, Sept 22
by Fred D. Puntawe

All roads will lead to Tublay, Benguet among bike enthusiasts and roadies, who will take part in the “Padyak para sa kalikasan, kalusugan, at pagtutulungan” on Sept. 22.

The event, organized by the Mary Immaculate Conception of Mary Parish headed by Father Berlynden Dao-anis, aims to raise funds for the completion of chapels at Labey and Akiki, which serve the spiritual nourishment of residents from sitios Nalseb, Sapuan, Mamuyod, Los-oc, and Amcaway.

The event, which will start at the Tublay municipal grounds, is expected to attract around 200 bikers from Baguio and Benguet who will witness the scenic view dotted and scented by pine trees along the 20-kilometer route.

A shift to granny gear beckons the bikers, short stretch of rough roads, and a lot of rollers lead to the finish line at Sitio Gueweng near the boundary of Tublay and Bokod.

The activity is supported by the local government of Tublay; Diocese of Baguio; Tublay Philippine National Police; the Bureau of Fire Protection-Tublay; We Care, We Sing Charity Inc., Camp Dangwa Chaplaincy; and Vicariate of San Jose.

Registration is at the Diocese of Baguio Caritas Office; San Jose Parish in La Trinidad; and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Kisad Road, Baguio City.

Registration fee is P500 per participant with a cycling jersey.

For details, interested parties may contact Fr. Dao-anis (0908-994-1961), Fr. Mario E. Tambic (0918-296-8683), Councilor Willy Diano (0910-194-0942), Engr. Sonny Espada (0921-248-4427), and Bro. Moises Anipey (0946-847-9302).
