Meneses is Baguio Gray golf champion

Engr. Ed Meneses fired 52 Molave points to emerge the champion in the premier class A of the Baguio Gray golf for-a-cause at the Baguio Country Club fairways on weekend.

Retired police general Manny Obrera had 46 to place 1st runner-up while Johnny Balaki had 45 for the third spot in the event that raised funds for civic events and financial assistance program of the club.

Balaki also won the special nearest to the pin at hole 10 with six feet and eight inches.

Rod Dimas had 40 with a handicap of 14 to become champion of class B, with Cris Bolayo also having 40 points with a handicap of 15 and Larry Carillo with 39 for the first and second runners-up plums.

Rene Fortaleza had 34, topping class C, with retired police general Alex Pumecha and Chris Ismael placing first and second runners-up, respectively.

Oliver Enmodias had 38 to become champion of the Gray division with Dr. Jun Dizon placing second with 25 points.

Former police officer Ed Paatan got the most accurate drive while Edwin Ganga won the longest drive award. Beginner Dave Awingan had a gross of 94 to be named the most exercised player.

Baguio Gray is an association of former and active alumni of the Philippine Military Academy, including those who were dismissed during their cadet days in the academy.

The group has been giving financial assistance and scholarship grants to former PMA cadets who opted to continue their studies outside the academy. The group also holds medical and dental mission, including other civic activities.
