The father and son tandem of Carlos and Iñigo Anton had a fantastic start to the 2018 season with the pair having a series of wins in four different disciplines of racing.

The younger Anton, at 13 years old and grade 8 student of Baguio Achiever’s Academy, is the defending – and youngest ever – Philippine National Slalom four-wheel drive champion.

He continues his title defense after topping the first two rounds of the FWD championship in Novaliches and San Fernando, Pampanga. He also leads the Philippine Autocross National Novice Championship after his dominance in both rounds held at Maycauayan, Bulacan.

The older Anton, on the other hand, had gone back to Rallycross racing after an absence of over 20 years.

The 1996 Rallycross Driver of the Year showed he still has what it takes and set fastest times in the three opening rounds of the championships Open Division held in Lubao Pampanga. He is tied with Milo Rivera for the Autocross Championship after the pair split the wins during the first two rounds.

Carlos and Iñigo of Castrol-Yokohama also led the Race of Champions Present and Future divisions after posting impressive wins during the races held at the Subic Freeport.

“It has been a really tiring but fulfilling first quarter of 2018. We thank the Lord for all the wins we have taken so far. We hope to remain competitive throughout the year and that our cars, the Mark Young-Mohspeed prepared Honda and the Kenneth Dominado-Subaru GC8, keep running well,” said the older Anton.

The Anton tandem is now preparing for the succeeding rounds of the championship to be held in Sta Rosa, Cabanatuan and possibly in Baguio City.

They are backed by Yokohama, Castrol, Mark Young Racing, Mohspeed, Special Stage, JSD Autosport, Edgesport, Parts Pro, Works Bell, and MP Turbo.
