Kingad, Kelly to face tough rivals in ONE 76
by Harley F. Palangchao

ONE contenders Edward Kelly and Danny Kingad will see action in ONE 76: Pinnacle of Power in Macau on June 23.

The 34-year-old Kelly is expected to unleash his striking arsenal when he faces former ONE featherweight world champion Jadambaa Narantungalag in one of the main cards of the night.

Kelly of Team Lakay turned famous in the mixed martial arts community in January after he scored the fastest knockout in the ONE featherweight division at the expense of MeasMeu.

This time, Kelly, who is known for his knockout power, will face one of his toughest opponents yet, as the Mongolian fighter is also known for having survived some of the strongest punchers in the promotion.

The 42-year-old Narantungalag has 12 wins and five losses while Kelly has 10 wins and four losses.

The 23-year-old Kingad will also face a tough Chinese opponent in Ma Hao Bin, who is an older and a more veteran fighter.

Since losing to ONE flyweight world champion Adriano Moraes in November 2017, Kingad came back with a convin-cing unanimous decision victory against Sotir Kichukov in March 2018.

Kingad now has eight wins and one loss while his Chinese opponent has 10 wins and two losses.

Meanwhile, ONE interim flyweight champion Geje Eustaquio is prepared for a rematch with Moraes in the co-main event of Pinnacle of Power.

Eustaquio clinched the ONE interim flyweight world championship by toppling Kazakh rival Kairat Akhmetov by way of five-round unanimous decision in a second encounter this past January.

Believing that it could be sweeter the second time around, the 29-year-old Baguio City native seeks to replicate the same magic as he is slated to lock horns once again with Brazilian flyweight kingpin Moraes.

Both men are scheduled to face each other in a world title unification clash at the Studio City Event Center in Macau.

“There were lots of trials and challenges. My path was not the easiest, but I always knew what I had to do to achieve it. Like I always say, it’s either you win or you learn. I learned from my past failures. And here I am today. That’s the secret to my success,” Eustaquio said.
