Philippine Amateur Golf Team member Paolo Luigi Wong fired three-under for a gross of 58 to win the overall men’s division of the 18th Nanoy Ilusorio Cup at the Baguio Country Club on Dec. 30.

Paeng Ding fired a gross of 69 while perennial winner lady golfer Rachelle Julian scored a gross of 73 to be named overall seniors and ladies division champions, respectively.

Bayani Tecson ruled the men’s Class A with a net score of 67 followed by Jjef Razon and Ramon Baltazar who scored 68 and 71 in that order while the Class B men’s title went to Richard Difuntorum who scored 60 with Bonifacio Pimentel and Pol Mayos scoring 63 and 64 for the second and third place.

Julius Mapili topped the men’s Class C with a net of 59 followed by Rico Garcia and Ed Aratas while Francis Navarrete had a net 52 to dominate the men’s Class D with Richard Co and John Ray Libiran trailing him.

Nora Sy topped the ladies Class A with a net of 61 followed by Farah Imperial with 65 and Marianne Bustos with 67 while Donna Navarrete had 61 to top the Class B followed by NidaWhybrow and Mel Donato.

Marie Balangue scored a net of 53 and was declared champion in the ladies C followed by Mignon So and Lanie Julian.

Ed Basbas topped the seniors Class A with a net of 59 followed by Tony Boy Tabora with 62 and Euls Austin with 64 while Ramon Aldana topped the Class B with 58 followed by Reggie Gamboa and Larry Senato. The seniors C was topped by Mariano Diokno with 57 followed by Ricky Rhodes and Mike Sy.

Jehmar Mapili had a gross of 72 to win the dependent’s Class A followed by Francheska Imperial with 73 and Elisha Chan with 75, while the Class B champion is Franco Aoyong with 73, followed by Anthony Garcia II and Ethan Co. The lone winner in Class C is Cody Co.

The champions in the guest division were Maverick Punjabi for Class A, Edwin Ganga for Class B, and Rene Garcia for Class C.

Joey Ancheta won the nearest to the pin at hole 1 at one foot and four inches while Jay Laurel’s 351 yards reach at hole 11 won for him the longest drive award.

Nida Whybrow’s one inch near the pin at hole 2 won for her the most accurate drive while Norine Rhodes’ gross score of 105 made her the golf course inspector for the day.
