BOUND FOR AFRICA -- Team Lakay’s Je-remy Pacatiw will be the lone Filipino fighter who will see action against American Kevin Lee in Morocco on Aug. 14. -- Brave CF photo

Kapangan, Benguet fighting pride Jeremy Pacatiw will see action when Brave Combat Federation holds its first event in African soil during the Brave 14 in Morocco.

The 22-year-old Pacatiw will face Kevin Lee of the United States in the flyweight bout of the event patronized by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain and His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco.

Pacatiw hopes to bounce back from two successive defeats he suffered from his foreign opponents in November 2017 and in May.

Pacatiw currently has three wins and three losses in five of six bouts held in the Brave cage.

His opponent Lee, who has two wins and two losses, will be debuting with the Bahrain-based mixed martial arts promotion after his brief stints with two other MMA promotions.

Earlier, Brave CF president Mohammed Shahid said the match between Pacatiw and Lee is expected to be highly competitive, as the two fighters will display contrasting styles inside the cage.

“Athletes from the Philippines have displayed heart, commitment, and skills which make them integral when Brave Combat Federation takes over the responsibility to bring the first ever global mixed martial arts event to the continent of Africa. This is also an opportunity to give platform for athletes to showcase their skills around the world and to bring the martial arts community spread around the world closer,” Shahid said.

Brave 14 fight night will take place on Aug. 18 at the Omni Sport Indoor Club in Tangier, Morocco.
