Garcia, Castañeto night run winners

Mark Christian Garcia and Cesar Castañeto Jr. ruled the recently concluded night run within Camp John Hay Historical Core, as they conquered the five-kilometer race in less than 20 minutes.

Garcia topped the men’s category in 18 minutes and three seconds (18:03) record with Castañeto following closely with just a millisecond difference at 18:04 on second place while Rommel Seno placed third at 20:44.

Top finishers for the 5K women’s category were Christabel Martes conquering the course at 22:32, Ira Mae Gani at 23:11 and Jolina Jose with 27:14.

In the 3K girls event, Samantha Corpuz ruled the category at 11:20 followed by Jaliya Caluza at 11:21 and Cyrill Ann Paranes at 11:36 on third place.

The 3K boys category was topped by Grei Villafuerte at 09:47 followed by Richard Ulat Jr. 11:21 then Alec Aparentado at 11:33.

The 3K female category saw Sisa Mae Caronongan placing first at 11:23 followed by Felicity Lorenzo at 11:55 and Farah Dangadang at 13:48.

The 3K event adult male top winner was Reymark Quezada, who clocked 09:12 followed by Karlo Lee at 10:35 and Anthony Fackayan at 11:07.

Top finishers for all categories received P100,000 worth of accident and disability benefit for one year from AXA life.

Castañeto and Garcia, who clocked a sub-20 minute challenge received cash prizes from The Podium Boutique Hotel on top of their other prizes.

Proceeds of the run will be for the triathlon training camp also hosted by Team Podium Boutique Hotel Baguio with Triathlon national coach Melvin Fausto on May 4 to 6 and other upcoming youth sports programs by the team.
