Ifugao boxing pride KJ Natuplag will headline the “War in the North” boxing event at the Cordillera Career and Development College in La Trinidad, Benguet on Nov. 26.

This after former World Boxing Oriental bantamweight champion Dayer Gabutan has to be pulled out from the main card to prepare for an upcoming international bout.

The boxing event promoted by Highland Boxing and DMAD Promotions announced that Natuplag will face Danilo Peña in the eight-rounder super featherweight bout.

The 21-year-old Natuplag has to prepare hard, as the 36-year-old Peña has more fights in his resumé.

The undefeated Natuplag, nicknamed “The Ohayami Boy,” has five wins with four by way of knockout and one draw while Peña has 60 fights as a professional boxer. The southpaw boxer from Parañaque has 27 wins with 11 by way of KO, 28 losses, and five draws.

Peña won the vacant Philippines Luzon Professional Boxing Association against the formidable Rey Juntilla in July 2015.

Darwin Miller Dep-ay of DMAD Promotions also announced exciting undercards in the boxing event, which is an official activity of the 2017 Adivay Festival.

Jayson Nicart of Bacoor, Cavite will face Brian Lobetania of La Trinidad, Benguet in a six rounder bout in the featherweight division.

Also, La Trinidad’s Orlandino Sinaloba will come face-to-face with Rahul Ganguly of India in a six-round super bantamweight while Louie Jorda, son of boxing trainer JJ debuts against Briel Amora of Pasig in a flyweight division.

MJ Uduna of Ifugao will test Joemil Esquijo of Makati while Christopher Bay-an of Atok, Benguet is ready to rumble against Rosendo Autida of La Trinidad.

Raising the curtain in the professional bout is Kathleen Paptie of Itogon against Renalyn Dacquel of Abra in the women’s super flyweight.

There will also be eight amateur bouts to be featured in the second edition of Highland Brawl, according to Miller.
