Highland Boxing’s Jeremy Bastian clinched gold in the 75 kilogram of full contact kickboxing of the recently held 2017 pre-Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games held at Harrison Plaza in Manila.

Bastian’s win could earn him a slot for the Philippine National Team that will see action in the AIMAG international tournament set in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan from Sept. 17 to 27.

The Philippine Team could be escorted by former Olympian and two-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist, now Makati 1st District Rep. Monsour del Rosario.

Highland Boxing Gym top honcho Brico Santig said his fighters combine kickboxing and other combative sports in their boxing training.

Two Highland Boxing athletes also won silver and bronze medals in the pre-AIMAG tournament.

Jeronil Borres captured silver while Ivor Lastrilla settled for bronze.

Borres was defeated by former world wushu medalist Robin Catalan for the gold medal in the 57 kgs of kickboxing event. Catalan is currently signed with ONE Championship, the biggest MMA promotion in Asia.

One of the bemedalled athletes in the pre-AIMAG is 23-year-old Richelle Piolo, who won two gold medals in two wrestling events, one in the 50 kgs. belt classic and 52 kgs. traditional wrestling.
