Kingad targets six straight wins vs Mongolian fighter
by Harley F. Palangchao

Team Lakay unbeaten flyweight contender Danny “The King” Kingad will not hesitate going toe-to-toe against a Mongolian opponent even on short notice to be part of ONE: Conquest of Kings in Surabaya, Indonesia on July 29.

Kingad is the only fighter from the famed Team Lakay who remains undefeated inside the ONE cage.

Fighting from local MMA promotions, Kingad signed a contract with ONE in 2015. Since then, he was undefeated in five outings against some of the fearless flyweight fighters in the promotion.

“A true warrior from the mountains of the Cordilleras and one of the top prospects to come out of Baguio, Kingad is a tremendous striker and is a former 2015 Regional Wushu Champion. In his most recent bout, Kingad met a tough test in Malaysia’s Muhammad Aiman, putting on a complete performance en route to a unanimous decision victory,” ONE said of Kingad.

The University of the Cordilleras athlete will face 32-year-old Hexigetu of Inner Mongolia, China, who is a professional martial artist with a record of four wins and two losses.

With an inherent ability to strike and grapple coupled with a highly aggressive style, Hexigetu is eager to join a deep roster of talents to seek success inside the ONE Championship cage.

Training out of China Top Team, the Chinese flyweight hopeful is making his promotional debut opposite top prospect Kingad, who hails from Sadanga, Mountain Province.

The Indonesia event will be headlined by reigning champion Kairat Akhmeto and interim titleholder Adriano Moraes to crown the undisputed ONE flyweight world champion.
