All Cordilleran MMA fighters led by ONE lightweight world champion Eduard Folayang are ready to raise the country’s flag when they face opponents in ONE: Kings of Destiny at SM Mall of Asia Arena on April 21.

Together with Folayang, other Cordillera MMA standouts from Team Lakay like Kevin Belingon, former ONE featherweight world champion Honorio Banario, Danny Kingad, and Gina Iniong are prepared for their respective fights.

“We are all set and we will give our best for our country and Filipinos around the world, who have been supportive throughout the years,” said Team Lakay Chair Mark Sangiao.

With only six days left before the showdown, Folayang will make his long-awaited return to the ONE cage to defend the title for the first time against Malaysian star Ev “E.T.” Ting, a fighter who has defeated at least five Filipino MMA fighters.

Folayang realized that to be successful against Ting, he has to make sure he comes in at his absolute best and prevent Ting from winning over another Filipino.

“I know the stakes. I know what’s riding on this fight. Ev (Ting) is coming for my belt, he’s coming to take what I’ve worked so hard for my entire career. There is no way I’m just going to let him take it. It’s not going to be easy, that’s for sure,” said Folayang.

Belingon, on the other hand, is ready to make a statement when he faces the much bigger and taller Toni Tauru of Finland, who once defeated Team Lakay fighter Geje Eustaquio in a potential title match eliminator.

The Ifugao native is looking forward to an impressive finish against Tauru, a known aggressive fighter both in standup and ground games.

Banario is also prepared to go toe-to-toe against power puncher Jaroslav Jartim of Czech Republic in the lightweight division. The pride of Mankayan anticipates this highly regarded contest to be a grind, but ultimately expects to leave the cage with his hand raised.

Kingad is confident to extend his winning streak to five by imposing his superb striking and submission skills on Malaysian combatant Muhammad Aiman in the flyweight division.

Kingad is also facing a bigger opponent with a physique of a natural featherweight, but he remains unfazed as Aiman is entering the flyweight territory.

Gina Iniong is more confident than before when she faces Filipino-English Natalie Hills in the atomweight division.  Iniong wants to leave a good impression in her ONE debut.

Other Filipinos to see action in the ONE: Kings of Destiny are Eugene Toquero, Robin Catalan and Jeremy Miado.
