TESDA-CAR trains prov’l info officers
by Press release

The Technical Education and Skills and Development Authority-Cordillera conducted a two-day capacity training for the different provincial information officers to enhance their capability to market its programs and services to their clients.

Seventeen info officers participated the training, three from Abra; two from Baguio-Benguet; two from Ifugao; one from Kalinga; three from Mountain Province; and six from Tesda technology institutions.

“We have so many programs and services that we failed to market to the public,” Tesda Acting Regional Director Manuel B. Wong said.

Wong said the two-day event will capacitate all information officers in providing information, programs, and services to the public.

“The workshop focused on effective news article writing and bringing the service closer to the public through press releases,” he said.

Wong emphasized the need for information officers to be capacitated in improving the image of the government.

The training is in line with Tesda Secretary Isidro Lapena’s directive about providing quality information, programs, and services to the public.

Philippine News Agency Baguio bureau chief Liza Agoot, who served as the resource speaker, told the participants that writing is a continuous learning process which requires effort and patience.

Among the topics discussed were story angling, journalism ethics, significant events organization, and proper way of obtaining information.
