PRO-Cor awards best offices 2017

IN THE SERVICE -- Best performing units, represented by their heads, of the various offices in the Police Regional Office - Cordillera were honored during the 116th Police Service anniversary celebration of the regional police as graced by Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa who was also adopted as the son of Cordillera and given the name “Mulingan,” which is the local indigenous term for a hard type of stone during the event. -- Ofelia Empian

The best performing police offices, personnel and units in the region were recently awarded as part of the 116th Police Service anniversary of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera.

With the theme, “Buhay ng pulis handang ibuwis para sa katahimikan at kaayusan ng bayan”, 20 police officers and offices received their awards from Philippine National Police Chief Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa and PRO-Cor director, C/Supt. Elmo Sarona.

Awarded as Best Provincial Police Office of the year is Benguet Police Provincial Office led by S/Supt. Florante Camuyot; Best Municipal Police Station of the year is Tublay MPS headed by S/Insp. Joyce Ann Dayag-Afalla and the Best City Police Station of the year is Station 1 of the Baguio City Police Office led by C/Insp. Eddie Bagto.

The Best Regional Public Safety Company of the year is the 1st RPSB Company led by C/Insp. Joel Dumar; Best Provincial Public Safety Company of the year is Benguet PPSC received by C/Insp. Rommel Sawatang, and Best National Operational Support Unit of the year is the Criminal Investigation Detection Unit-Cordillera led by Supt. Jeremias Oyawon.

Also given awards were the Regional Finance Service Office led by Supt. Roel Rodolfo as the Best National Administrative Support Unit of the year; Women and Children Protection Desk of the BCPO led by S/Insp. Mercedes Bucalen as the Best WCPD of the year while the Best Police Human Rights Desk of the year is the HR desk of Abra PPO led by S/Insp. Marcy Grace Marron.

The Best Police Strategy Management Unit of the year is Abra Provincial Strategic Management Unit led by S/Insp. Sharibel Unciano.

Individual police officers and non-uniformed personnel were honored to include S/Supt. David Peredo Jr. as Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer for Administration; S/Supt. Florante Camuyot as Best Senior PCO for Operations; S/Insp. Ronaldo Wacnang as Best Junior PCO for Administration; and Luis Dangatan, Jr. as Best Junior PCO for Operations.

Recognized as Best Senior Police Non-Commissioned Officers are SPO4 Christopher Depolio for Administration and SPO1 Sunny Wance for Operations, while Best Junior PNCO are PO2 Viva Rose Puday for Administration and PO3 Ruben Balanoy for Operations.

Best Non-Uniformed Personnel Supervisory Level was Robilyn Rojas, while Michelle Junio was conferred the Best NUP Non-Supervisory level.

Dela Rosa encouraged the whole regional police command to perform its duties well despite several controversies surrounding the PNP.

“All attention is focused on us so let us be very careful in our job. Let us do what is right and let us be guided by proper police procedures,” said Dela Rosa, who was adopted as a son of Cordilleran during the event.
