TYPHOON OMPONG AFTERMATH

The death toll in the Cordillera due to landslides triggered by Typhoon Ompong with international name Mangkhut has reached 82 while 49 others, mostly in Itogon, Benguet, are still reported missing as of Sept. 21. Thousands of families are likewise displaced while the damage to public and private properties and infrastructures is immeasurable.
In the aftermath of the deadly typhoon, uniformed government personnel are leading the search and retrieval operations in a bid to account the missing complemented by the strong public and private sector partnership in the ongoing relief operations.
