Business zoning in Baguio
PERCIVAL B. ALIPIT, Baguio City

We commend the closure of several establishments that violated their business permits. This move should pave the way for Baguio to pursue a business zoning scheme.

In the city proper and practically in all barangays, business is done in a topsy turvy manner – a mixture of all sorts of businesses.

Situating each type of commerce in a designated lane would be more convenient for customers to reach out for goods and services they need, serves time in shopping, prevents obstruction and eases mobility, ensures sanitation and aesthetics, and would give business owners the competitiveness to display quality commodities and services at reasonable prices.

Having an organized business setting in Baguio will make the city a pleasant place to shop, dine, relax and enjoy.
