An urgent appeal to the DPWH
NAME WITHHELD, Camp 7, Baguio City

This has reference to the unstable concrete wall along the stretch of Kennon Road at Camp 8 that is posing serious threats to motorists and the public.

A photograph of the unstable concrete wall was even published in the front page of the Baguio Midland Courier in its April 14 issue.

After the prohibition of construction works of DPWH from March 29, 2019 until May 12, 2019, may we please rely on DPWH to act on the problem regarding that long defective retaining wall along Camp 8, which has been declared as a landslide-prone area. Our rainy season has started and if no preventive measures are taken as soon as possible, all the loose soil above the wall will get saturated and will surely result in a major landslide.

Everyone using Camp 8 to commute will need to pass through other roads. Longer travel time and tardiness of employees, students and the general public will occur, and constructions in open areas requiring cement cannot be done when it rains. Please give this appeal top priority for the safety and convenience of local residents and visitors/tourists.

Your immediate attention will assure taxpayers of Baguio City that our taxes will be spent for urgent projects in our community that must be scheduled after election time. The public will greatly appreciate to hear from the DPWH about any immediate plans to repair this Camp 8 landslide prone area. Thank you.
