Thank you for the prompt response on garbage woes
CONCERNED RESIDENT, Baguio City

We were surprised Wednesday morning when the garbage collectors refused to pick up the “nabubulok” from our designated dump area at Ferdinand barangay, without any advance warning to the residents.

The dilemma would be: Will we bury our trash in our backyard or should we all dump it at the City Hall grounds to call the attention of Mayor Benjamin Magalong?

We were fortunate that a councilman friend gave us the contact number of Richard Dayag of the Office of the City Mayor, who later explained that the Department of Environment and Natural Resources has decided to close the Irisan controlled dumpsite where the “nabubulok” trash are being contained.

Worried that the stray dogs in the neighborhood would scatter the garbage left by several households, we continued pestering Dayag, who in turn asked the General Services Office for assistance, and they finally picked it up.

Thank you City Hall for the prompt response to our problem.
