Significance of Epiphany
PERCIVAL B. ALIPIT, Baguio City

Today, Jan. 6, is Epiphany – a Christian festival in commemoration of the manifestation of the birth of Jesus Christ to the Three Kings or “Wise Men,” who each brought frankincense or myrrh which are aromatic resins, and gold, a precious item.

These presents symbolize attractiveness and worth in the subsequent life of Christ – drawing multitudes of people in His preaching of goodwill as He fed the hungry, healed the sick, rose the dead, and comforted the lonely – miracles that only the Lord can do.

How about us now, is there anything of meaning and values that we can give to Jesus – one that pleases and glorifies Him? A completely transformed self is what He longs for from us this New Year and all the days of our lives to be deserving of His blessings of peace and prosperity.
