Alleged lack of concern for students’ safety
NAME WITHHELD, Baguio City

Naniniwala po ako na isa sa mga dapat kino-konsidera ng bawat paaralan, pribado man o publiko, ay ang kaligtasan at seguridad ng kanilang mga mag-aaral.

Subalit, itong isang unibersidad sa Lungsod ng Baguio ang natatanging paaralan na walang pakialam sa seguridad at kaligtasan ng kanilang mag-aaral.

Halimbawa, kahit malakas ang bagyo at may typhoon alert ang Pagasa, itong unibersidad na ito ay hindi man lang magawang mag-kansela ng klase. Noon pa man at hanggang sa kasalukuyan, yan po ang hinaing naming mga mag-aaral.

Kamakailan lang po ang syudad ng Baguio ay nakaranas ng intensity 4 earthquake. Bakit wala man lang abiso ang unibersidad na kanselahin ang klase?

Ang isang problema para magkaroon ng desisyon kung kanselahin ang klase sa panahon ng bagyo or earthquake ay kailangan pa itong pagbotohan ng mga membro ng Board of Trustees. Ayon sa impormasyon na aming nasagap, ang dalawang miyembro ng BoT ay nasa America. Sa sitwasyong ito, hindi agad nagkakaroon ng mabilis subalit nararapat na desisyon sa panahon ng bagyo o lindol.

Sana magkaroon ng pagbabago sa sistema ng pagkakaroon ng desisyon ang mga membro ng BoT para sa seguridad at kaligtasan ng mga mag-aaral.
