Hail to the La Trinidad Strawberry Festival
PERCIVAL B. ALIPIT, Baguio City

I would like to express my gladness about the celebration of the municipality of La Trinidad, Benguet under the able leadership of Mayor Romeo K. Salda of the recent Strawberry Festival.

It was a splendid display of strawberry fruits and processed products produced in the valley to the appreciation and delight of the public.

The decorated strawberry floats portrayed the importance of strawberry as a delicious and nutritious food, and with the use of recyclable materials to advocate good waste management practice. The men-driven floats also had an impact on environmental concerns – in minimizing air pollution and having healthy exercise.

Although this was a competition of the biggest and sweetest strawberry fruit, outstanding strawberry growers in the locality who have shown excellent farm productivity following desired cultivation practices could have been recognized and honored for they are the ones who make the Strawberry Flower Festival, as projected in the theme of the occasion.

Let the quality strawberries of La Trinidad reach the global market as it can prosper as they are and in various processed commodities.
