The value of celebrating the Buwan ng Wika
MERCY G. DULAS, Buguias, Benguet

In the Department of Education, activities depend on who is in-charge of Filipino per school or per district.

In the K to 12 curriculum, mother tongue is the first language while Filipino is the second language, but this month reminds us the importance of our national language and we have to use it properly.

Encouraging the students to participate in the activities like poster making and slogan contests, declamation, tula, and balagtasan will instill in their young minds the importance of our national language.
