The city government and the Filipino-Chinese community will celebrate June 10 the 18th Filipino-Chinese Friendship Day.

The celebration is spearheaded by the Filipino-Chinese community and the city government in cooperation with the City Environment and Parks Management Office, City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), and the Baguio City Police Office.

The program will start at 10 a.m. at the Filipino-Chinese Garden at Botanical-Centennial Park where Zhou Youbin, consul and head of post of the Consulate of the Peoples Republic of China based in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte will deliver his inspirational message.

The Filipino-Chinese community and city officials will recognize the Filipino-Chinese Garden benefactors.

The Baguio Filipino-Chinese community and the BCPO will sign a deed of donation for a motorcycle from the former.

Mayor Mauricio G. Domogan and Consul Youbin will lead the ribbon-cutting and unveiling of the Baguio Filipino-Chinese Friendship Garden and a tree planting.

The Baguio Filipino-Chinese executive committee will pay a special tribute and appreciation to Domogan, honorary chairperson of the executive committee and Atty. Carlos M. Canilao, city administrator and co-chairperson of the executive committee.

City officials and the Filipino-Chinese community will also participate in a gift sharing for children-in-conflict with the law and children-at-risk. The beneficiaries were chosen by the CSWDO.

The city government has ceded to the Baguio Filipino-Chinese community 1,000 square meters within the Botanical-Centennial Park.

Domogan expressed his gratitude to the Filipino-Chinese community for their contributions that continued to help sustain the growth and development of Baguio as a business haven.
