One-man show on EJKs, Feb 8 at UC
by Press release

Actress-activist Mae Paner, also known as Juana Change, will perform “Tao Po,” a series of monologues to be staged on Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. at the University of the Cordilleras Auditorium along Gov. Pack Road, Baguio City.

Paner brings to life the experiences of four individuals and how their lives were changed by the government’s war on drugs campaign. A discussion on human rights and extrajudicial killings will follow immediately after the presentation.

The activity is meant to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a milestone document that proclaimed the inalienable rights which everyone is inherently entitled to as a human being regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. It is the most translated document in the world, available in more than 500 languages.

“Tao Po” is sponsored by the UC, with support from Hudyat: Artists for Human Dignity, Dakila, Commission on Human Rights, and a network of Baguio-based artists and cultural groups composed of Dap-ayan ti Kultura iti Kordilyera, Let’s Organize for Democracy and Integrity, Baguio Writers Group, and the BenCab Museum.

The performance is open to the public.
