DOST post-grad scholarship program opens in UP Baguio

The Department of Science and Technology Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) will be offering scholarship on master’s (MS) and doctorate (PhD) program in mathematics at the University of the Philippines-Baguio starting academic year 2019-2020.

The scholarship is under the Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program of DOST-SEI. The program aims to help improve the country’s global competitiveness and capability to innovate through Science and Technology (S&T) and accelerate the production of high-level human resources needed for research and development (R&D) in S&T.

Filipino citizens who are not more than 45 years old at the time of application; those who are in good health; and those who have passed the admission requirements for graduate studies, interview, and other screening procedures are eligible to avail of the scholarship.

Scholarship awardees will enjoy the following privileges: actual amount for tuition and other school fees will be paid in full for both MS and PhD; a monthly stipend of P25,000 (MS) or P33,000 (PhD); an annual book allowance of P10,000; actual economy class round trip fare per academic year for those who opt to study outside their home province; and P1 million accident and health insurance per year.

They will also receive thesis/dissertation allowance based on the type of research, whether dry (P30,000 for MS or P60,000 for PhD) or wet (P50,000 for MS or P100,000 for PhD; a research grant amounting to P89,000 for MS or P253,000 for PhD; dissemination grant of P75,000 (MS) or P150,000 (PhD); and a mentor’s fee of P36,000 (MS) or P72,000 (PhD).
