Deserving Cordillera police officers honored

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The National Police Commission-Cordillera recognized police officers and handed over the grants for the Napolcom Welfare Benefit Program beneficiaries in the region in line with the observance of National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW).

Those awarded with certificates of recognition for exhibiting exceptional courage and gallantry in the performance of their duties are La Trinidad Municipal Police Chief C/Insp. Benson Macli-ing and SPO2 Noren Bandao of Atok Municipal Station, PO2 Heidi Juliano and PO2 Pink Pearl Kayachen of Baguio City Police Office Drug Enforcement Unit; PO1 Marlon de la Paz of Abra PPO Public Safety Company; and SPO1 Antolin Potpoten of Mountain Province PPO.

The awardees are the regional nominees to the Search for Outstanding PNP members with Potpoten making it to the national level.  

For the Napolcom Welfare Benefit Program, scholarship grants were given to beneficiaries of two police officers who were killed in action and one who retired due to the injuries sustained in the performance of duty.

A widow of a police officer killed in action also received P480,710 and  scholarship grant for her children. She will also be entitled to monthly pension for five years.

SPO4 Efren Jun Abaya of the BCPO and his wife also received a plaque of recognition for being the regional winner of the search for Model PNP family.  

In the same program, PRO-Cor also awarded Medalya ng Kadakilaan, Medalya ng Kagitingan, and Medalya ng Papuri to select police officers.
