The surrenderers consisting of three NPAs from Mountain Province, and 31 Militia ng Bayan members from Tinoc and Asipulo, Ifugao and Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya received P10,000 and gift packs from the Office of the President.

Lt. Col. Narciso Nabulneg, Jr., 54th Infantry Division commanding officer, said the genuine and massive Community Support Program Operation and campaign of the government among stakeholders have led to the surrender of the 34 individuals.

He asked other NPA rebels to also abandon their cause and return to mainstream society and for the communities to stop supporting the rebels.

“I also appeal to the NPA remnants to embrace peace and return to the folds of the law without any hesitation, and likewise for the community to totally stop giving support to the communist-terrorist NPA. We instead convince them to lay down their arms and be part of the stakeholders for peace and development like the former rebels,” Nabulneg said.
