IGO aids Ompong victims thru RISE
by Press release

The Igorot Global Organization (IGO), a non-profit organization registered in the United States but whose members come from all over the world, is providing educational support for victims of Typhoon Ompong through its Relief Initiative for Sustain Education (RISE) project.

The project gives scholarships to college students from the Cordillera whose sources of financial support were cut off as a result of Typhoon Ompong. The project is envisioned to help students continue and finish their schooling.

To be eligible for assistance from the IGO-RISE, the applicant must meet the following criteria: one or both parents are physically incapacitated or are facilities of the typhoon, or the family home has been totally destroyed or the family’s main source of livelihood has been cut off due to the typhoon, and the student is in college and is committed to continue his/her schooling.

Applicants may get in touch with Dr. Brigitt Santiago at 098-559-1049 or Dr. Gaston Kibiten at 0921-728-8815.

Those who know someone who qualifies for the IGO-RISE financial assistance may also refer the candidate to these numbers.

Likewise, individuals and parties who wish to donate to the IGO-RISE project may send a check payable to Igorot Scholarship Program (ISP), Inc., reference Typhoon Ompong, or deposit to a local Metro Bank & Trust Company anywhere in the Philippines.

The ISP bank account number is 4163416285633. For queries and donations, please contact ISP Chair, Dr. Gaston Kibiten, at the above-mentioned number.
