‘Donate a book’ for Marawi children
by Karren Nobres

Give the children of Marawi the gift of reading this year through The SM Store’s Donate-a-Book campaign.

The SM Store and SM Stationery have set up booths in all The SM Store branches nationwide where shoppers can donate new books, pre-loved books, and brand new school supplies from May 1 to June 30.

Each donation entitles a customer to a P50 discount coupon which can be redeemed for every minimum P500 single-receipt purchase on regular-priced items from the SM Stationery at The SM Store. Coupons are valid until May 1, 2019.

The five-month siege in Marawi City affected thousands of children’s lives. Some schools were destroyed and children no longer  have access to education and cannot afford basic learning materials like books and school supplies.

Reading is known as a powerful tool for healing – as it helps the mind to find its peaceful place.  This is because books are motivating, inspirational, and give a vision of human strength.
Shoppers can help the children of Marawi overcome difficulties and dream again with the gift of reading.

Donate-A-Book is one of the ways The SM Store and its customers work together in doing their share for the less fortunate.

The joy it brings the recipients is priceless as can be seen in the Alabang Elementary School and the Tanza Elementary School.

Each donation will certainly bring smiles to the children of Marawi.

Other projects of SM are Share Your Extras, Gamot Para Sa Kapwa, and the upcoming Share-A-Toy campaign.
