KGWEO visits barrio folks
by PIA–Kalinga

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Members of the Kalinga Provincial Government Women Employees Organization (KGWEO) trooped to Burayucan in Barangay Balong this city to distribute rice, groceries, used clothes, and toys to residents as part of their yearly community service.

KGWEO president Virginia Puyoc said they conduct outreach programs during the celebration of Women’s Month to share their blessings and interact with women folk in the barrios.

The group, which has 400 members, is an active partner of the provincial government on women concerns.

KGWEO celebrated the International Women’s Day on March 8 by holding their annual general assembly at the Kalinga Astrodome and launched the celebration of the Women’s Month with a dance competition and fashion show.

During the affair, Nelda Bulawit of the Kalinga State University talked about the role of women in the family, workplace and community which she anchored on the theme, “We make change work for women.”
