JHMC personnel train on gender sensitivity, mandates
by Press release

A five-day training was conducted for the John Hay Management Corporation (JHMC) Gender and Development team led by JHMC Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and GAD Executive Committee Chairperson Jane Theresa G. Tabalingcos.

The training was organized by the Regional Organization of GAD Focal Points, Inc. spearheaded by Reina P. Olivar, a GAD specialist and a Philippine Commission on Women-certified GAD technical assistance provider-trainer. Fifteen JHMC employees led by GAD-TWG head Danny B. Latawan and coordinated by Leslie T. Dulfo joined the activity.

It included topics on gender sensitivity training; and GAD mandates, analysis tool, monitoring evaluation framework, and gender planning and budgeting.

The workshop focused on gender mainstreaming for various assessment of policies and programs for 2018, 2019, and 2020 as well as recording accomplishment reports for 2017.

With the guidance of the trainer, an effective GAD plan was generated and efforts for a more harmonized GAD guide were substantiated through outputs.

JHMC continually trains its personnel to better serve its stakeholders as well as to efficiently deliver public service. It recognizes the philosophy and impact behind individual, business and societal growth, as growth is often equated with the progress and success of a corporation.

JHMC also recently sponsored a photo contest aimed at raising awareness on gender equality and sensitivity, by capturing theessence of women in nation building  and supporting various campaigns to end all forms of violence against women.

The contest, with the theme, “The Role of Women in a Growing Economy,” was topped by Marcial S. Barrios, who also bagged the favorite photo award; with Fernando G. Zapata and Ian Joseph L. Calpito as second and third prize winners, respectively.

Emman A. Foronda garnered the other favorite photo award.
