Tabuk City boosts efforts in programs against COVID-19
by Larry Lopez / PIA

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The city government has scaled up its quick response efforts amid the coronavirus disease-2019 (Covid-19) crisis.

City Planning and Development Officer Maricel D. Killey said P17 million  was released for the Covid-19 quick response operation of which P7.5M was  used for the procurement of 15,000 food packs distributed to families from vulnerable sectors mostly affected by the enhanced community quarantine.

For the city’s other anti-Covid-19 efforts, massive disinfection is regularly done in public markets.

Collection of garbage is also not hampered to assure cleanliness in the city’s surroundings.

In line with the protocol on social distancing, the barangays issued home quarantine pass limiting one person per household to go out for food, health, and other essential needs per schedule on Monday to Friday to avoid large crowd at markets and groceries.

Saturday is allotted for the cleaning of business establishments while Sunday is day of prayer and rest, which means  no one is allowed to go out except for emergencies.

The latest record from the City Health Office shows there are 1,046 people under monitoring and 20 people under investigation in the city.

Thirty-five had completed the 14-day quarantine.

As of press time, city health authorities said that Tabuk remains Covid-19 free.

Mayor Darwin C. Estranero called on people of Tabuk to stay home while the enhanced community quarantine order is in place.
