Tabuk City supports 2,074 scholars
by Larry Lopez / PIA

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga – The city government maintains its Education Assistance Program to ensure that its youth would pursue college education.

For the first semester of the current school year, there are 2,074 beneficiaries under the program.

April Duruin, who is in-charge of the City Scholarship Program, said the assistance is extended to deserving students who could not afford to pursue college and do not have other support.

Under the program, beneficiaries receive a stipend of P4,000 per semester provided they have no failing grade and no incomplete and no dropped subjects.

With the opening of the senior high school curriculum, the scholarship assistance is expanded to qualified students entering senior high school but only to those who enroll in private schools.

Scholars are encouraged to study in educational institutions in Tabuk.

Since the start of the program, beneficiaries who successfully finished college are now employed in various agencies here.
