Parents reminded of early registration

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Kalinga Schools Division is calling on parents to have their children enlisted as the Department of Education started the early registration last Jan. 27.

Romulo Galnawan of Kalinga Schools Division said the move aims to determine the expected number of students and pupils entering government schools in the coming school year, 2018-2019, as basis of preparation efforts for needed learning facilities and materials.

The early registration which ends on Feb. 28 is open for Kindergarten to Grade 12 learners.

Galnawan said that is the mandate of the DepEd to ensure that every child should be enrolled in school in line with the ‘education-for-all’ campaign of government.

The DepEd launched the ‘Alternative Delivery Mode’, where schools tie-up with barangay officials and parents in seeking qualified children for enrollment in schools.  The action assures that no child is left-out from school, Galnawan said.

The drive includes out-of-school youth who need to be ushered to learning institutions to complete the basic education cycle.
