PRO-Cor chief presents priorities
by Marcelo B. Lihgawon / PIA

LAGAWE, Ifugao – Conduct of a peaceful midterm election, intensified anti-drug campaign, internal cleansing, and campaign against terroristic acts.

These are the four priority thrusts of Police Regional Office Cordillera Director Brig. General Israel Ephraim Dickson, which he emphasized during a recent command visit at Camp Col. Joaquin Dunuan here.

Ifugao is a peaceful province with no records of election-related incident recorded, but for May 13, Dickson told the police to maintain or even improve the state of peace and order.

“I still challenge every one not to put our guards down but instead make this as our inspiration to perform our tasks more seriously to improve further our approaches in maintaining peace and order in Ifugao,” Dickson said.

With illegal drugs still rampant in the country and a menace to society, he advised the different municipal police stations to continuously enforce anti-drug campaign in Ifugao and to be always vigilant in going after potential violators.

Dickson also reminded police officers about the internal cleansing of the PNP saying that there are still few reports reaching that some policemen are prone to committing mistakes.

Dapat iwasan natin na magkamali. Pairalin ang disiplina. I’m challenging the leaders to always supervise your men, always exercise your superiority over your subordinates. Kung may nagkamali ay may mga abogado tayo na mag-prosecute sa inyo. To those who are doing excellent in the performance of duties, you will be rewarded with due recognitions,” he said.

Dickson also asked his men to stay alert and be ready for any untoward incident that may happen in their areas of responsibility due to terroristic acts like what happened in Mountain Province involving the New People’s Army rebels.

“I directed all provinces to be on red alert. We are on the fighting stand, we should always be ready to thwart any terroristic plan in our community,” he added.
