by Marcelo B. Lihgawon with report from Allen M. Kimmayong

HUNGDUAN, Ifugao – The Municipal Police Station here has initiated a run-for-a-cause to help the family of an ailing boy provide for his medication.

The fund-raising that earned more than P43,000 was participated in by more than 100 government employees, officials, and residents.

The amount was turned over to the family of Jiro U. Dumannop, a 17-month-old child diagnosed with global development delay, epilepsy, and tonic type structural and presently confined at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center.

Acting Chief of Police Capt. Michael Dangilan said that the event was part of the launching of their emerging best practice dubbed, “Kaboblayan mi, baddangan mi.”

“This will be conducted once a year to raise funds and provide financial assistance to less privileged constituents in the municipality who are much in need for their medication,” Dangilan said.

Hungduan MPS is one of the police stations in the province that maintains best practices as a way of serving the people and bringing the government closer to the community.

Some of the best practices include providing free haircut, assistance to local and foreign tourists, and delivering packages to concerned individuals.
