CSP caravan visits GIDAS

KIANGAN, Ifugao – The 54th Infantry (Magilas) Battalion, 5th Infantry (Star) Division, Philippine Army; Tactical Operations Group 2, Philippine Air Force, local government units, and line government agencies of Ifugao and Nueva Vizcaya delivered basic services through the Community Support Program (CSP) all-in-one grand caravan at Barangay Danggo, Tinoc, Ifugao on July 26.

Group conducted information, education, and communication campaign; medical checkup; tooth extraction; bantay presyon; free haircut; blood typing; dengue NS1 testing; gift and book giving; giving of various vegetable seeds and assorted seedlings (fruit bearing and non-fruit bearing); and film showing.

A total of 1,155 residents from Danggo and Luhong of Tinoc, Ifugao and its neighboring barangays of Napo in Ambaguio and Balete of Kayapa Nueva Vizcaya and Lusod of Kabayan, Benguet benefited from the activity, which was planned by the team for geographically isolated and distressed areas (GIDAs).

Reflecting the “whole-of-nation approach,” the CSP all-in-one grand caravan was conducted with partner stakeholders, namely the Philippine Information Agency-Ifugao, Tinoc Municipal Police Station, Tinoc Municipal Social Welfare Development Office, municipal local government operations officer of Tinoc, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority-Cordillera and Ifugao, Rural Health Unit-Tinoc, and Department of Health-Cordillera.

The other partners are Department Agrarian-Region 2, Provincial Agriculture Office-Nueva Vizcaya, Municipal Agriculture Office-Tinoc, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office-Tinoc, Department of Education, Touch Care, and private individuals who chose not to be named.

Profiling of former rebels who willfully presented themselves to the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program committee members was also conducted in Poblacion, Tinoc, Ifugao.
One regular New People’s Army member and 18 Militia ng Bayan members were served.

“Delivering basic services to our kababayans from Ifugao, Benguet and Nueva Vizcaya including the safe entry to the mainstream society of our long lost brothers who were recently profiled by the E-CLIP committee members is part of the genuine services performed by the different agencies through the whole-of-nation approach. With our partners, we once again proved that we can do enormous things when we’re united and work as one,” Lt./Col. Narciso B. Nabulneg Jr., battalion commander of 54thIB said.
