Pantawid recipients complete training
by PIA-Ifugao

KIANGAN, Ifugao – Thirty-three individuals from four towns in the province completed their 10-day Pre-Licensing Training Course for Security Guards.

The training, held at the Kiangan Youth Hostel, was funded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Personnel from the Asegco Security Training Institute Inc. based in Baguio City were tapped as the trainers of “Class Agila of 2018.” The batch is composed of five females and 28 males from Banaue, Lamut, Mayoyao, and this town.

DSWD Project Development Officer II Mila Padong said the training course for security guards was one of the needs proposed in 2017 by beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program from the four towns to help alleviate their living conditions.

The training was funded under DSWD’s Sustainable Livelihood Program and Skills Training for Employment. The fund assistance covered the participants’ food, training materials, and lodging for the training duration.

Padong said that the DSWD’s assistance to the graduates does not end with the training. The agency will also provide the graduates P5,000 each to be used in securing the requirements needed for their employment.
