The Luis Hora Memorial Regional Hospital (LHMRH) held on May 10 the blessing and groundbreaking ceremonies of its various construction and improvement projects in Abatan, Bauko, Mountain Province as it aims to continue expanding its services to its clients.

The expansion projects, worth P81,755,241.50, include the construction of the CT-Scan housing, flouroscopic machine housing, waste septic tank, laundry linen facility, extension ward buildings, central supply room, and outpatient department comfort room.

The nurse and newborn screening room also underwent improvement works. It included the energization of garbage waste autoclave.

The fund was allocated by the Department of Health under its Health Facilities Enhancement Program.

Dr. Lakshmi I. Legaspi, DOH-CAR director, congratulated the LHMRH management for “the unity and concerted efforts that have resulted to improvements that are crucial in serving the health needs of its patients.”

“I hope you will find ways to have adequate manpower to take good care and properly maintain the use of these facilities to maximize the health care services that are beneficial to your clients,” she added.

Legaspi, Chief Executive of the Congressman Maximo Dalog Foundation Atty. Cyphrine Maxcel Y. Dalog, and Dr. LHMRH Medical Center Chief I Eduardo B. Calpito led the ceremonial cutting of ribbons for the different construction and improvement projects.

They also led the groundbreaking of the Microbio and Histopath building, which has a separate budget of P6,923,426.54 and is expected to be completed in November. The project is an additional laboratory advancement of the Pathology Department so that patients need not seek specimen analyses outside LHMRH that add up to their expenses.

The Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, also with an allocation of P59,679,436.63, will proceed after the hospital secured tree cutting permit from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources for the area in which it will be established.

LHMRH is a 100-bed capacity level 2 hospital that serves Mountain Province and adjacent municipalities of Benguet, Ifugao, Kalinga, Ilocos Sur, Abra, and Nueva Vizcaya. Its administration is working to turn it into a 200-bed capacity hospital to accommodate the increasing number  of clients.
