Red Cross trains ambulance drivers
by PIA–Abra

BANGUED, Abra – An ambulance driver should know emergency medical care for his passenger.

This is why the Philippine Red Cross-Abra under the leadership of Administrator Ivy Venus S. Avendaño recently conducted training for ambulance drivers from the different municipalities in the province.

They were trained on preparatory ambulance operation, which includes proper transport, proper endorsement to the hospital, and familiarization of the different tools and equipment of the ambulance.

The ambulance personnel’s know-ledge and skills were also tested with multiple simulation drills including vehicular accidents.

Gerald Reyes of Tubo, Gerardo Sante of San Isidro, and Eduardo Javier of La Paz topped the skills training and examination.

All the participants were given a certificate of participation and Red Cross license.

Provincial Medical Technologist and PRC Board of Director Lilibeth B. Martin said the training is beneficial to all local government units in responding to incidents.
