Hospitals eyed in search for seal of excellence
by PIA–Kalinga

TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The Civil Service Commission-provincial field office is eyeing government hospitals in this year’s search for the Seal of Public Excellence.

CSC-Kalinga Provincial Field Officer Ruban Wacas said the move seeks to assess the compliance level of government health care centers in the province to Republic Act 9485 or the Anti-Red Tape Act.

The law aims to establish an effective system that will eliminate red tape, prevent graft, and corrupt practices, and promote service delivery excellence in government. As such, government frontline agencies are mandated to act immediately to official transactions providing clients with short ‘turn-around’ time.

In the province, government agencies that were assessed and conferred the Seal of Public Excellence are the provincial offices of the Department of Trade and Industry, Registry of Deeds, and PhilHealth.

Last month, Tabuk City, in line with the Anti-Red Tape Act, has put up a one-stop shop at the city hall lobby to assure immediate turn-around time of applicants of business permits and licenses.

Rafael Matammu of the City Business Licensing Section said service desks were provided to officers of agencies involved in the issuance of business permits and licenses to prevent applicants from hopping from one agency to another seeking for agency signatures.

From the two to three days processing, the turn-around time was cut to one to two hours.
