Hundreds of residents of barangays surrounding the John Hay reservation including locators within the John Hay Special Economic Zone availed of the free medical and dental check-up with free legal consultation at the Scout Barrio gymnasium recently.

The free services were provided by medical practitioners of Saint Louis University Hospital of the Sacred Heart under Dr. Paul Adlai B. Quitiquit. A team of 40 medical practitioners provided pediatrics, OB-GYN, surgery, and medical consultations.

Beneficiaries also received free multi-vitamins and prescription medicines.

The dental services were provided by Dr. Proserfina Mananig of the Mananig Dental Clinic.

Lawyers from the topnotch roster of the University of Cordilleras School of Law facilitated the free legal consultation, spearheaded by Dean Reynaldo U. Agranzamendez.

The outreach program aimed to provide easy access to health care services and legal aid to residents who need them but have limited resources.

The activity was in line with the corporate social responsibility projects of the corporation and a part of the 114th anniversary celebration of the camp.

Among those who extended support and provision to the outreach program were the John Hay Business Club led by its Maria Teresa Pantaleon, who provided feminine wash and bottled water; and Mercury Drug Store and St. Joseph Drug Store which delivered several medicines and multi-vitamins for the recipients.

The JHMC has been assisting and providing easy health care services to its neighboring communities in the city.

Last year, it has expanded its outreach program to as far as Gohang and San Fernando, Banaue, Ifugao, where hundreds of residents from the two barangays were provided with the basic necessities like mosquito nets, slippers, educational kits, and clothes.

JHMC is a subsidiary of the Bases Conversion and Development Authority which manages the John Hay Special Economic Zone.
