Airbag pledges P1.5 M aid to NDCH Charity patients
by Harley F. Palangchao

The corporate social responsibility arm of respiratory services provider Airbag Inc. in cooperation with Notre Dame De Chartres Hospital is giving back to its charity patients in the form of financial assistance.

Through its YACAP sa Notre, which stands for Yearly Airbag Charity Assistance Program, the company is giving a pledge of P1.5 million over a period of six years or equivalent to P250,000 a year to be availed of by charity patients beginning January 2018.

The program has been launched by the company and YACAP sa Notre last May 20.

Under the program, charity or indigent patients can avail of the financial assistance ranging from P5,000 to P25,000 once a year.

For a patient to qualify for the program, the request for financial assistance will come from the social service department of NDCH or the attending physician. Each patient has to be referred to the Social Services of NDCH, which will classify patients from Class A to E.

Class A will be entitled to P5,000; P10,000 for Class B; P15,000 for Class C. Patients classified as Class D and E will be entitled to P20,000 to P25,000, respectively.

After classification, a referral form will forwarded to the NDCH medical director and hospital administrator for signing before final approval by the Airbag president or its duly appointed representative. The fully accomplished duplicate form will be forwarded to the social services and billing section of the hospital.

Relatives of NDCH stockholders up to the second degree of consanguinity are not qualified to avail of the assistance.

Already on its 10th year as an efficient and dependable provider of respiratory services including but not limited to home oxygen, home mechanical ventilators, nebulizers, respiratory services and other respiratory supplies, Airbag Inc. wants to reach out to patients who need the quality service of NDCH but could not afford the full cost.

“As a stakeholder and outsourced provider of respiratory services in Notre Dame, the stockholders realized that it is time for AirBag to be a true partner of this institution who has nurtured us for 10 years. Our 10 years in existence is the most opportune time for the company to give back to the community who has been so kind and generous to us the past years,” a  statement of Airbag Inc. read.
